Pre-School Special Education (CPSE)

Home and Community Based Services

Service providers work with children 3-5 years of age with in the home, community or at Adirondack Enrichment.

Services Adirondack Enrichment provides for children:

  • Speech-Language Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT)

 

Children typically receive services at a minimum of 2 x's 30 minutes per week for therapy services or if they are receiving SEIT services a minimum of 2 x's 60 minutes per week. Goals and objectives are directly targeted through these sessions.

Group Speech Therapy

Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-10:00 am

Adirondack Enrichment offers Group Speech Therapy within the regular education Pre School program. A maximum of 5 children participate in this group and the service takes place directly in the classroom. Skills that can be worked on are articulation, receptive and expressive language, socialization, and pragmatic skill development. Children must be enrolled in the Pre School program to receive this service. Please visit our Pre School page to find out more about our program.

Special Education Itinerant Teacher Group (SEIT Group)

Tuesday and Thursday 10:00-11:00

Adirondack Enrichment offers a SEIT Group within the regular education Pre School program. A maximum of 5 children participate in the group and the services take place directly in the classroom. The SEIT provider supports the success of the Pre School program for each child. This could include pre-academic skill development, social/emotional development as well as pragmatic language skills. Children must be enrolled in the Pre School program to receive this service. Please visit our Nursery School page to find out more about our program.

Children who are receiving services through the Early Intervention program will transition to CPSE with the support of their Service Coordinator. Children must transition to CPSE prior to their 3rd birthday in order to continue receiving services.

A Pre-School Evaluation must be completed in order for children to receive services through the CPSE. This evaluation can be conducted by Adirondack Enrichment if requested by the child's home school district Pre-School Committee Chairperson.
